Book Recommendations Jody Royer is an avid reader of Sci-Fi and Mystery Novels. He particularly enjoys reading books written by fellow Canadian authors. As he pushes towards self-publication of his own debut novel, Royer eagerly embraces every opportunity to promote works by indie authors. His favorite writers in the Sci-Fi and Mystery genres are Hilary Davidson, Meaghan McIsaac, Judy I. Lin and Guy Gavriel Kay. Although it certainly isn’t a story developed by a Canadian writer, Royer is a huge fan of Star Trek. Growing up as a Trekkie, the writer found himself fascinated by the technology utilized in the 1960s television series and associated works. Interestingly enough, Royer wound up pursuing a career in the technology industry, largely inspired by his love of Sci-Fi! Now, he’s shifting gears to trek into his more creative side.
Mystery Novels Jody Royer’s favorite mystery novels include: The Red Chesterfield by Wayne Arthurson and Don’t Look Down by Hilary Davidson. He looks forward to sharing reviews on these two selections. For his own debut novel, Royer intends to set his story in the middle of a mystery. Will it be one that the reader can detect or will this page-turner lead you on a wild goose chase into mysterious Sci-Fi territory? Only time will tell!
